...OUR CONCEPT

Sail Arawak SXM was established in 2019 when a couple of friends, Rodney Williams and Francois Nel decided to take over the sailing catamaran "Arawak" from Bluebeard Charters with the goal to share a unique and memorable sailing experience.

Come and take the helm of a racing catamaran that was built to race across the Atlantic. We guarantee small groups, real sailing and taking our guests to destinations away from the crowds. We adapt our outings to the rhythm of your desires.

Guests can get involved as much or as little in the handling of the boat. The moment we leave the mooring the sails go up and the motors are switched off, offering you a silent navigation without noise and pollution. Being passionate about the ocean and everything it has to offer we pride ourselves to deliver an eco-friendly and sustainable experience.

We look forward to sharing this exceptional experience with many for years to come!

Mel worked in hospitality on a private island in the British Virgin Islands, as a yacht stewardess based in the MED, and as a qualified Dive Instructor for a Dive School in Roatan, Honduras.  The ocean and in the water is where Mel feels most comfortable, “You could say it’s my happy place.”

Island water world catamaran
Arawak, rendez-vous nature route du rhum

Arawak is a 52 foot World Class sailing catamaran. You are guaranteed to enjoy a fun day of sailing. Take the helm and experience speeds of up to 20 knots or simply lay back and relax on the trampoline.

On the boat we have a dry cabin, toilet and shaded areas.

In October 1997 The Arawak (then called "Rendezvous Nature") was launched in Bretagne in France.
Renowned skipper and builder, Pascal Quintin was at Arawak's helm in 1997 on the transatlantic "Jacques Vabres" and at the 6th edition of the "Route du Rhum" in 1998.

Sold in Guadeloupe after the race the boat resurfaced a few years later in a boat yard on Sint Maarten.
Today Arawak is back in its natural element after a serious makeover in the colors of Island Water World, our sponsor. Now you can board this exceptional catamaran for a fun day of sailing or join us for a regatta to experience the thrill of racing on a fast multi hull.
